Finally had a free day last weekend and headed out to the Barcelona Botanical Garden.  I highly recommend a visit.  There are great views of the city and the different types of plants are pretty amazing. It opened in 1999 on an old solid landfill site on the hill of Montjuïc. It was designed by the landscape architect Bet Figueras, the horticulturalist Artur Bossy, the biologist Joan Pedrola and the architects Carlos Ferrater and Josep Lluís Canosa.  Plants are grouped according to five Mediterranean regions. The design is a triangular network adapted with a network of paths. Find out more here:,4555,418159056_418871429_3,00.html

You forgot to say the most important thing: it was a romantic and sunny walk with your beautiful wife!!!
