Impossibly Tall Towers Of Stuff

The NPR article at the end of this link has a great series of photographs by????Alain Delorme. They are photos of are migrant workers around Shanghai with massive mountains of stuff on their bikes or being hauled in some way or another. ??In the article they talk a little about blurring the lines of documentary photography, which I don't really think is the question. ??What I see in these photos are beautifully manipulated images that contrast wealth and poverty or old and new in a very interesting way. ??I don??t think of them as something that is documenting reality but almost mocking reality, kind of a caricature, but that is what makes them so interesting. ??The color, lighting and surroundings all look manipulated to create the perfectly balanced image which makes a statement or tells a story. ??These images are fun, funny, and??esthetically??pleasing and I encourage you to check them out.
