I just listened to a great interview with the photographer Karl Grobl on LensFlare35. (Links below)  Karl works mostly with NGOs to produce photography they can use to support their causes.  He gets to travel the world but on an NGO budget so he has to rough it.

You can hear the interview and see a slideshow narrated by Karl at: http://www.lensflare35.com/episode-0034-interview-with-karl-grobl-humanitarian-photojournalist
